Hi, I’m Eliza!
And I’m obsessed with leadership.
I first started my leadership journey as a young professional in youth nonprofit and quite frankly, I had no idea what I was doing. My insecurities of never being good enough led me to micromanage along with fear of feedback led to some really passive aggressive communication (or sometimes, no communication!).
On top of that, I was constantly navigating the ups and downs of my own bosses. I remember being so anxiety-riddled by every micro interaction with a boss that I stopped sleeping. He saw himself as a visionary, but he was an insecure visionary who needed his “subordinates” to bow down to him.
And so, I became curious. I thought, there must be tried and true methods to being a leader while creating a culture of both excellence and employee wellbeing. I was able to attend some truly fantastic trainings and conferences that allowed me to not only show up for my team, but for them to show up for me with their best work.
I saw massive results from my team while receiving the bare minimum from my own bosses. And because I felt like I was onto something, I left the nonprofit world and received my Masters in Health and Wellness Management.
