This is how Buddhism explains the activity of the mind. It is in constant motion, restlessly bouncing around without ever stopping.

Maybe you’re trying to FOCUS on a big presentation but your thoughts keep distracting you.

What if no one likes your idea? What if they think it sounds dumb? What if no one listens to you? What if you have food in your teeth?

So then you try to shift gears and do some bookkeeping. You start to categorize each receipt but your thoughts keep distracting you. Clearly you can’t focus, so you give yourself a break by picking up your phone.

Suddenly, each catastrophic event happening in the world seems to be directly in front of you. You start scrolling through some meaningless reels as a distraction and each person’s feelings are being thrown in your face. Your stress starts to rise until you feel so overwhelmed and depleted that you have no more energy to give.

Illuminate is a 6-week mindfulness program designed for the busy leader and professional overthinker. Together, we will learn how to direct thoughts for enhanced focus, tune out the distractions to protect our energy, and free up precious time and energy.

Why mindfulness?

Mindfulness is an ancient tool from Buddhist practices that has exploded in the past few decades.

How ancient? Only about 2,600 years!

There’s a reason why this practice has been a fan favorite for Buddhist monks and neuroscientists alike: It works.

Mindfulness is a state of awareness without judgement. It’s noticing your moment to moment experience without your mind taking off on the hamster wheel.

Mindfulness can be developed through meditation, yoga, tai chi, and many other practices. As mindfulness is a state of being, you can practice it at any time.

Over the course of 6 weeks, we will dive into the basics of mindfulness, learn exactly how it works in the mind and brain, learn how to navigate conflict mindfully, and practice practice practice. This is PERFECT for those that are brand new to mindfulness as well as those who have experience.

  • This is for leaders and relevant professionals who have never meditated or practiced mindfulness to those who have some experience.

  • There will be some parts that are specific to leaders and the difficulties that come with that level of responsibility and supporting others. However, even if you don't identify as a leader and are still feeling drawn to this program you are welcome to join!

  • This is a live program and you will receive the most benefits and support from the group if you attend live. However, if you cannot make a session or two they will be recorded for your convenience.

  • There are some wonderful apps out there for meditation and mindfulness! This program is a structured format designed to help integrate mindfulness everyday into the busy leader's (that's you!) life. Using apps with this program will be complementary to the work, but JUST using apps will not receive the same benefits.

  • There will be no set homework that must be completed in between sessions. After all, you're a busy professional with a full life! There will be resources and invitations to integrate mindfulness in your daily life sent out after each call but these will all be challenge by choice!
